Lucas Duda’s 30th and last home run of the mets 2014 season.
(Thanks for the shot, Uncle E. I know you would say I “got the eye,” but something tells me you had a lot to do with this one. )

In light of the Royals-Giants World Series set to begin in a few days, here’s the full Game 1 of 2000 World Series between the Mets-Yankees.

Fourteen long years ago, it was the last time the Mets participated in a Fall Classic. It wasn’t the prettiest, but here it is in all of it’s glory.

y Once again, Jacob deGrom has been named NL Rookie of the Month for September!
"Major League Baseball named righthanded pitcher Jacob deGrom the National League Rookie of the Month for September. It was deGrom’s second NL Rookie of the Month award. He also captured the honor in July. The last pitcher to win the AL or NL Rookie of the Month twice was the Marlins’ Jose Fernandez in 2013.
deGrom, 26, went 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA (five earned runs/27.0 innings) in four September starts, striking out 38 and walking six. He is only the second Mets player to earn Rookie of the Month honors since the Award was established in 2003. Justin Turner won in May of 2011.
deGrom tied the modern-era major league record with eight consecutive strikeouts to begin a game on September 15 vs. Miami. He tied Houston’s Jim Deshaies. The Mets righty finished with a career-best 13 strikeouts that night.
deGrom ranked fourth in the NL among all pitchers with 38 strikeouts in the final month, including 23 over his final two starts. He allowed one earned run or fewer in three of his four starts in September. Overall, deGrom earned the Rookie Triple Crown, leading the NL in strikeouts (144), ERA (2.69) and tied for the league lead with nine victories.”
